Woodworking software
Structural analysis software

Abies Engireering srl
About Us
Founded in 2000, we are the first Italian company to have developed, produced, and marketed calculation and verification software specifically designed for wooden structures.
Today, we also develop software for steel structures and custom software, and thanks to our affiliated design firm, we offer consulting services for wooden houses, wooden roofs, and steel structures.
Software
ConnetPro
Calculation of composite wood floors.
ConnetPro is an automatic finite element analysis program designed to analyze composite wood floors. The calculation algorithm is based on extensive theoretical and experimental research conducted in a university setting and implements the “two-beam” finite element.
This numerical method has been thoroughly tested, having been effectively used by numerous engineering firms with excellent results. The program allows for the analysis of composite floors, whether with a wooden deck or a reinforced concrete deck, and provides deformations, stresses, and strains on the beam, the deck, and the connectors along the entire longitudinal axis, since the use of the finite element method allows for analysis using the continuous beam model.
It is also possible to evaluate the presence of temporary shoring and apply completely arbitrary loads.

AbiesBEAM
AbiesBEAM is an automatic finite element analysis program that allows users to analyze laminated and solid wood beams (straight, tapered, inclined, curved, arched, and cantilevered), curved frames for long-span structures and bracing, rafters, ridge and purlin elements for standard roofs, and steel beams (HEA, IPE, etc.).
In the 2D environment, mathematical modeling and load assessment occur automatically, requiring no user intervention other than the definition of geometric data, based on which the program then performs the static analysis of the structure, calculating deformations, stresses, and strains on all elements.
Once again, the user can make the desired modifications by adding or removing members, or by changing the loads or the characteristics of members and nodes. Of particular interest and practicality is the feature that allows for the analysis of connections and local reinforcements created using metal elements (brackets, plates, pins, screws, or nails).

AbiesTRUSS
Design and verification of wooden trusses and space frames.
AbiesTRUSS is an automatic finite element analysis program that allows you to analyze standard wooden trusses (single-strut, single-strut and tie-rod, and counter-strut) as well as lattice trusses.
Simply by entering the geometry of the structure to be analyzed, the program automatically creates the mathematical model, evaluates all applied loads, and then performs the static analysis, calculating deformations, stresses, and strains on all elements.
The automatic modeling, however, does not preclude user intervention; the user can verify the specific design requirements of the case by modifying the model through the addition or removal of members (lattice structures only), or by varying the loads and characteristics of members and nodes. A crucial feature is the one that allows for the local analysis of connections, both wood-to-wood connections and those made using metal elements (plates and dowels or nails).

AbiesWALL
Buildings with load-bearing wooden walls
AbiesWALL is an automatic finite element analysis program that allows users to analyze buildings with load-bearing walls made of XLAM and/or Platform Frame timber. The structure is modeled by levels, with the option to include not only walls but also floors, beams, and columns (made of wood, steel, and concrete).
Special elements allow users to complete the building by adding roof slopes. Walls can be selected from pre-compiled databases in which their structural characteristics are defined. Dedicated databases are also provided for tension and shear fasteners (hold-downs and corner brackets). A 2D and 3D CAD environment allows for the easy insertion and modification of all building components.
AbiesWALL is a highly versatile program that also allows for the analysis of simple frame structures with load-bearing columns made of wood or steel (e.g., frame houses, mezzanines, canopies, etc.). The geometric model is then automatically converted into a finite element model which, like other programs, can be manually modified to make changes. All loads, including climatic loads, are handled by the program. The model is solved using linear analysis, which can be either static or dynamic.
